Ry's Dog Training, Isle of Wight Puppy and Dog Training

About Ryan & How Ry's Got Started

Hi, my name is Ryan, I’ll answer to most things, but Ryan was what my mum called me. I’m a local lad (to the Isle of Wight) who grew up in East Cowes. For the sake of this blurb, please read this through the voice of a English Male from the South of the UK.
I moved away and off the island as I turned 16. Started my Army career and served at war, in three different hot and cold environments, spending just over 3 years in war zones alone. I spent just over 6 years in the dog handling/ training regiment, handling, and training in some of the toughest environments… but 12 years in total had me leaving in 2015. I started Ry’s Dog Training and haven’t looked back since. The business name has changed a few times however, the constant has always been Ry’s.
Before this I’d never known anything about self-employment or even anything business related. I have had to learn on my feet whilst running after what seemed to be a moving bus. I am qualified, insured, experienced, balanced, moderated and choice style dog trainer.

~~ In walks Alanna~~

Before life on the island, Alanna was in the world of corporate before settling here on the island. She used to make big money moves and head hunt people for business that employed her. Now she runs and manages the day care side of things. Amongst the other qualifications she specialises and likes to spend most of her time helping dogs and their owners fix some of their problems by deploying Health and Nutrition. She works closely with managing their day-to-day life. Categorically she is a manager, and this is where both Alanna and I work so well together.

Our team have very similar ethics, we are very proud and passionate of what we do. We have achieved so far, a great deal in such little time with a small, but Full-Time business.

We now have great building blocks to go forward and achieve much more. especially now we have a new location in Newport.
We continue to grow here at Ry’s, we now have a team of 9 people who are all awesome at what they do. There isn’t a dog too small, too old, or too peculiar that I can’t help in some sort of way… even in the smallest of ways however there isn’t a time frame for dogs as they all learn at different speeds. We try to help the owner as well as the dog to understand what your dog is trying to tell you.
Being a dog owner myself too two beautiful bitches, I’m sure both Poppy and Louise are better known than any of us here at Ry’s.
We’d like to think that we know what you are wanting/ going through as a dog owner. It seems in the present day that there is a warped perception on what ‘balanced’ dog training is, therefore would like to try and help with changing that very misguided perception. Did you know that 97% of a choice style trainer is Positive?
I’d like to take the time to thank the individuals that share, name drop, tag, nominate, refer, and talk about me or us or the business. THANKYOU!!
So please…get in touch, book in, an ensure that your dog is healthy, balanced, not running your house and you are not just blind feeding your dog for any old behaviour.
Thanks for reading our bio and look forward to hearing from you and seeing you on the next Ry’s Big Social Meet!!!
